Why is this year's E3 in July instead of May like it used to be?

Whole new show, Whole new time. Same place, same bat channel?

I use to look forward to E3 every year. Now it's just "meh"

May became a problem for a lot of developers who were aiming for the holiday season. Before they had to divide their teams up to prepare a demo and make sure it ran fine for all the media and press that would be playing it. July is better for them because they are usually in beta by now if they need to launch by Oct/Nov.

At least there are still press conferences. Always interesting to see what MS have up their sleeve :p

Such as the Games for Windows guide in Vista itself not in the game which never came to be :bleh:

I hear that if you have a xbox 360 there is a lot of free E3 content to download...

Sony is following suit so PSN will be updated with content July 11-13.

Sweet. Lets hope the PS3 content is different. If not the PS3 is my media playback device of choice. PSN is much faster than Live in this part of the world...

Although my Live subscription might allow access to 'secrets'.

PSN will have the MGS4 trailer as soon as the confernence is over. ;)

Seems a bit odd that they wouldn't have anything to show for Fallout 3 since it was just announced last month.

I really hope we get something though.

I hope Fallout 3 uses a traditional monster level system and not that crap from Oblivion.

I watched Day 1 last night and they did a short thing on Fallout 3
He basically just summarized it, and pretty much said that you could tell it was made by the same people who made Oblivion
