My work PC is an Athlon 64 AM2 2.4ghz (single core) with integrated Radeon 1150 graphics. It has 1gb DDR2 that is shared with the GPU. I think I can allocate how much of it goes to graphics. It has a PCIE slot and 2 PCI slots. I also have a free Radeon 9200 128mb PCI card. It is showing up as an LE model, but has a 250mhz core and 200mhz DDR ram. I do not think it is a crippled 64bit memory card, but it is on the PCI bus.

The 1150 is supposedly a 2 pipe GPU running at 400mhz and sharing the systems RAM which would be say 128mb @ 667mhz. The 9200 is 4 pipes @ 250mhz and 128mb RAM @ 200. I'm leaning towards the integrated solution being better because of the RAM speed and newer shader model (2.0 vs 1.4).

I do play some games at lower resolutions when I have free time here. I do not wish to spend money on a PC that's not mine, so the free 9200 is a decent deal. Which would you guys use?

Well from my testing of similar settings and playing WoW. It looks like the onboard 1150 is at least twice as fast on average and up to 4 times as fast at times with slightly better quality. It just seemed to me that a dedicated solution would be better, guess not. Anyone care to fill me in on as to why it's not better?
