"Mondial du Gaming" :headexplode: Parisians should start to learn the French language first... :headexplode:

Wow that is some pretty juicy info!

Highlights:

*If you shoot birds out of the sky they fall and land on the ground (and can most likely be picked up and used as weapons, since chickens can be used this way).

*Walking in sand leaves foot prints which enemies can use to track you. Vehicles also leave trails the same way.

*Algae floating on water effects the sunlight that passes through it when you are under water.

*When you are underwater and you resurface, water droplets will run off of your helmet (cool!).

*Vehicles have gasoline tanks to limit the amount of driving you can do with them.

*Servers can enabled DirectX 10 effects when created. This enables day\night cycles and something else that wasn't explained to them. So, day\night cycles in MP will require the server to have DirectX 10 enabled, and you'll need DirectX 10 capabilities.

*Some trees can be climbed (possibly using the strength ability to jump into them) to give you a better firing position.

won't limiting day night cycles to dx10 mean that there are hardly any day night cycle matches? Not a huge deal but it would be kind of cool to see in dx9

Limiting gasoline tanks is a nice way to have large maps but restrict the use of vehicles.

I would've thought that DX10/DX9 modes would be completely client side aspects irrelevant to the server, guess not.

this wouldnt work, the reason they did it server side, its because of things like back in CoD mp games, where people with high end comps had smoke effects and couldnt see crap through it, while people in lower end machines couldnt see smoke and just blast away. There must be something that is enabled with dx10 that isnt on dx9.

It'll be ruling your life while it's beating my GTSs head off the pavement. :(

We'll just have to see how my PC can handle Crysis first . . . then I'll know what I can upgrade to lol.

You think that's bad? I don't even have a GTS yet, and that's the card I'm going to be getting. Right now I'm using an integrated video card due to lack of cash.
