I might reinstall Pk for this!
Originally born as a grassroots development project by Mindware Studios, DreamCatcher and JoWooD are fully endorsing the project. By providing full financial and publisher support, Mindware will now receive additional technology and assets in order to move Overdose from a simple community mod to a full-fledged retail-ready gaming experience.

only original makers should be able to expand the story line

I still havent finished the first one.

The gameplay gets old incredibly fast and there isnt any connection between levels. You don't carry over weapons or ammo or anything. And it seemed like the level design was really amateurish.

I definitely won't be getting this one.

But they are now... kinda. They are fully endorsed and funded. Give them a chance. It's not like the story is overly complex.

Yeah, played the game, but it became boring quite fast...

Sure it plays very fast, but it's always more of the same, kill monsters, collect their soul....

Best thing about Painkiller was deathmatch.

I know what you mean. But I found in Painkillers case it did that formula so well, like Serious Sam and Doom.

Normally I hate FPS that are just kill and collect ammo. But there are the games that just do it really well. What's more Painkiller still looks great.

Was it an engine made by Dreamcatcher? Or was it licensed? I can't remember :0

thats what they call it now?

i'm sorry, but its still the original engine by Pleople Can Fly, if i remember correcty it was simply called Pain, not 100% sure about the name.

DreamCatcher probably bought the engine and now they call it their own.

Well, it looks pretty interesting. though it will get monotonous after 5-6 levels, just like Painkiller.
