View Full Version : 162.22 or 163.11: which one do u prefer?
These drivers still don't save any settings I make to the profiles. Any changes I make to the profiles are lost after a reboot. I went back to the 158.45 drivers again due to this and some suspicious game crashes that had not happened before.
I filed a bug report for both as this happens on both.

Strange, I have never had that problem in Vista with Nv drivers?? Seems strange, how many Vista installs have you made?? Or are you still using the same first vista installment?? And have you installed all hotfix updates for vista?? Because if it was a NV driver bug, then most of us should have that problem. I have never had even something close to that??!

As a matter of fact, this was also with a clean install after all hotfix updates loaded. Went back to 158.45 and no problems with profiles.

Weird.... Do you have some registry cleaner/optimizer program installed on youre system?? Software that you always install after freshinstall, like crapcleaner or something?? Try un-installing some of these programs, or dont install them at all next fresh install you do... I bet it is some kind of incompatiblity issue with those 2??

It's obviously a bug on some systems. I can recreate it everytime.

After I installed 163.11 I lost HDR + AA in "Oblivion" so I went back to 162.22. Now HDR + AA is broke with that driver set too in said game.
I removed 163.11 in safe mode and used drivercleaner then tried installing 162.22 again. No HDR + AA. Guess I will try installing the game again.
I am so tired of this sort of sh#t.
EDIT:
Reinstalling the game didn't help either.
I finally installed nHancer and forced it from there. Under the compatibility tab for anti aliasing "Oblivion" was being forced as "Rainbow 6 Vegas". Under Options I selected "Allow overrides" then set the anti aliasing compatibility choice to "Oblivion(AA+HDR)". Now it works. For some oddball reason 163.11 changing it to "Rainbow 6 Vegas".
