I thought 33% of all Xbox 360s are faulty but now Microsoft gaming boss Robbie Bach said on Microsoft conference call the real figure just all Xbox 360s manufactured since the launch are faulty.

Wow I find that very shocking and appaling, I think this is far worse than worldwide laptops batteries recall.

Just about 66% of you are very lucky with Xbox 360s worked fine. If it aint broken, dont fix it.

lol, you are vastly misinterpreting. Xbox's produced to date are faulty to the extent that some poor design choices were made that created the potential for the 360 to red ring. We know this already. Peter Moore issued a public apology for this about a week ago, as well as issuing a three year retroactive warranty as well as refunding all those who have already paid for repairs.

Your trolling is beyond madening. You offer absolutely no worthwhile discussion to any thread you start or post in. Can you ever post ANYTHING that isn't coated with bias and fanboy intent?

Sorry I am not misinterpreted. Peter Moore issued a public apology on 5 July 2007 after news of Xbox 360 33% failure rate posted on websites. 33% is about 2 millions but the link I posted is a new news on 9 July from Robbie Bach, that 4 days ago said every consoles are faulty.

are you that stupid that you can't comprehend anymore? Yeah every single xbox ever made has been returned to the repair center.... Bach is simply saying that all 360's made to date have the same cooling, therefore they all have potential to get the 3 red rings; that is until MS start implicating a new cooling system.

If every single Xbox 360 sold since launch is faulty then why have I never had any problems with my?

Try to explain that AthlonXP1800.

Reading an article and fully comprehending what's written are two entirely separate things.

Microsoft did not disclose the exact nature of the problems, but said that it had made the necessary design changes and that units currently in stock will be upgraded.

So if I buy a new 360 right now, how can I tell which ones are the "fixed" ones?

A design flaw means its not a question of if the unit will fail but when. That's not inability to read the article or fanboy-ism its a fact.

Meaning that 100% of Xboxes produced after launch are operating above a safe temperature. Meaning that anytime any Xbox owner runs their Xbox they are damaging their Xbox components and increasing their chances of failure in a significant way.

Obviously turning on any electrical device increases its chances of failure but the increase is supposed to be incredibly small. Meaning if I buy two of the same electrical device and leave one on longer than the other they will still reach the end of their expected life without failure. However what we have with the Xbox is that if one unit is run more than another its life is significantly cut short due to running hot. There may be outstanding batches of Xbox chips that can run hot for long periods of time, years, but they're still running outside design and therefore are very likely to fail before the predicted life the the Xbox (~10yrs) expires.

Frankly I'm shocked they had the balls to admit a design failure. It opens up the legal floodgates. Its no wonder Robbie Bach dumped $6.2M in M$ stock  -Robbie goes tits up (http://kotaku.com/gaming/screw-the-women-and-children/update-robbie-bach-dumped-62-million-in-ms-stocks-277541.php)

Does anyone know if the Elites are updated? I'd imagine they'd have to be.

It should be based on manufacturing date... I'd say if its this month, it should be the "fixed" ones.

:wtf: Dude...ALL Xbox360 consoles (Globally) now have a 3 year warranty from date of purchase so there is no need for you to panic.

ONLY if it 3 rings... if the drive messes up (another fault) it is not covered under that warrenty.

Well the three red rings were the only serious problem. It's not like 33% of Xbox's have a drive problem. They're covering the one acknowledged faulty part of the system.

PS3 and Wii only havea 1 year general hardware warranty too, so it's not like MS is skimping there.

Some people simply cannot get over the fact that sooner or later all hardware fails. At some point in time every 360, ps3, wii, pc, will fail. Simply because a piece of hardware will fail does not mean it is flawed.

So your saying that there is nothing wrong with the X360? That 33% failure rate after less then two years on the market is normal? If thats what you think then your a ****ing idiot, no offense but jesus christ... not even the PS2 had that big of an issue and Sony got hit hard with critizim with its issues.

And no, at some point hardware shouldn't fail if its built properly. My SNES is working flawlessly since I purchased it, same with my Dreamcast and my Gamecube. Hell I have a 486 CPU in my closet that still works... Poeple should not expect their hardware to fail.

You have zero understanding of electronics. NOTHING will last forever. You might be way past MTBF, but everything will fail eventually.

It opens up the legal floodgates.

rofl! Legal floodgates? What are the damages? An Xbox360? Sounds like you're covered if it happens. Kids today know nothing of law.

What are the damages?

The psychological damage caused by 360 deprivation.

It's been hell since my 2nd 360 died 3/4 of the way through The Darkness. (crazy)
