Wednesday April 2, 2003

MARKHAM, Ontario – ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) is now shipping its RADEON™ 9800 PRO visual processing unit (VPU). Boards based on the world’s fastest VPU have shipped to OEM, retail, distribution and online customers, fulfilling ATI’s promise of delivering product within 30 days of the March 6 launch.

The RADEON 9800 PRO VPU is the only visual processor to run at full speed and full precision all of the time, providing excellent performance and visual quality without compromise. Numerous positive reviews and awards from leading online and print technology publications have generated huge demand for the graphics boards. "Once again we promised and we delivered. Consumers and all of our channel partners are about to get their hands on the fastest, best image quality graphics cards available," said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. "We will ship our RADEON 9600 and RADEON 9200 products later this month, delivering on that promise as well."

Graphics boards based on the RADEON 9800 PRO VPU, from ATI and its numerous board partners, will be available in systems from the world’s leading OEMs and system integrators. For more information on ATI’s partners or products, please visit www.ati.com.

Funny part targetted for a certain company products.
But then again, they forgot about their own products...R300 series. :D

Shipped where? Not the UK I bet. Dabs' lone entry is still on long lead time expected, no-one else has any; I e-mailed Komplett and they said they didn't have any dates.

I e-mailed Crucial asking if they were going to produce them and they said they didn't know, and Sapphire didn't respond at all.

I don't know why they're going about sticking to their promises, we were told March availability and then 31st preorder shipping, neither of which happened :(

why dont you show us a review with an 'actual' NV35 board dig with some real numbers... instead of posting more BS hype about a who knows what Nvidia paper release.

The UK never counts when it comes to launch shipping dates for any company, never mind ATi. :(

I agree, they wanta 15% restocking fee.

I herd that GameStop had them in, so i went to my local Babbages (GameStop owns, babbages and FuncoLand) and they stoped carrying PC stuff. (cuz this store is a small one).

THen i went to Circuit City and they had none, and yesterday i checked BestBuy and they didnt have it so : (

i just found out, you can check local in store availability of anything in your bb shopping cart.

according to this, its currently unavailable in bb stores near me.

"Checking pickup availability at a particular store

You can check the availability of an item at a specific store from your Shopping Cart by selecting the Check Shipping Cost and Store Availability link at the bottom of the page. This takes you to the Shipping and Store Pickup Options page.

Once you sign in to access your preferred stores or to select stores, your 3 stores will be listed for each product in your Shopping Cart. An open circle in front of the store name indicates that the product is available for pickup at that store. If the product is not available for pickup at that store, the store name appears in gray with a line through it."

just enter a diff zip code when it asks which zip you want to search

check the whole 3 hour radius.

look in some phone books for zip codes.. or look for your states zips on the net.

I work at a BB in Indy. We don't have any 9800's and if the in-stock date is to be believed, we won't for a little over 3 weeks. But one thing we do have is a BFG FX 5800 Ultra, although only one, lol.

If they want to charge a 15% restocking fee if you return it, get a manager. There is nothing in the return policy about restocking fee's for video cards, I should know, I work at customer service. Only if you destroy the box, or forget to bring something back could they charge a restocking fee.
