View Full Version : Color Space - Blacker Than Black Video Issue On Geforce 8800 GTX

My experince with G80 series has been pretty good so far. Nvidia still has some issues to sort out on the driver side though.

Well i have a question for all the Geforce 8800 GTX users:

The last month ive spotted an issue when playing of video. And it affects all kinds of formats and diffrent overlay options.

The thing is that when playing of video with the card the color space is messed up. I downloaded a video test file called IREsplittbars. I dun remember the download site. But in this test you have bars of white, grey and black color. Though in my case the black is more grey.

Il post a picture later as proof. Has anyone experienced this problem or spotted it. Or is this a issue that Nvidia already knows about?

Any clues?

Please respond with a sulution to the problem if u have one or if its a driver bug?

Give the fix in post #5 a try using 0x3. Sounds like the issue you're having.
I've had to do that both in XP and Vista. You'll have to reboot after changing the value.

Thanks Tiermann Ive already applied this fix in XP and yes it works. But then again this fix only works when you use VMR9 rednerless overlay mode.

So again is this a Nvidia bug. Cause the desktop overlay colors are perfect.

If this is an bug i would like to report nvidia about it. ;)

Anbody who can test video playback and confirm this problem?

here is a link to the Iresplittbar file http://www.w6rz.net/iresplitbars.zip.

If the first bar in the video is grey instead of black its gotta be a driver issue.

Anyone who can confirm this.
