I tried to open a link with a wmv or mpeg file on the end and it just opens a new page with an error: page cannot be found

How to solve this?

Maybe the problem lays with quicktime.....

I opened Minefield (Firefox 3) and it first asked me which program to open with, cause nero showtime was standard, did choose wmp and then when I tried to open such a file, it opened it witch quicktime (streaming it seems)

Thx

how can I rebind IE7 to WMP again? :)

So when I click a movielink, WMP opens and not a new IE page

Thx

Dragunov,

I was having this same issue after installing Nero 7.10.1.0. Here are the steps that got my media links opening correctly with Media Player:

Open IE7 > Tools > Internet Options
Click on the "Programs" tab
Click on the "Set Programs" button
Click the "Set program access and computer defaults" link
Click the "Custom" option
Go down to the "Choose a default media player:" option and select "Windows Media Player"
Click the "Ok" button
Close "Default Programs" window
Click the "Ok" button on the "Internet Options" window
Test this and see if it doesn't get it working for you. Hope so!

Yeah I have to do this often since every now and then MPC takes control which in Vista isn't as great or needed thanks to WMP11 just being awsome.
