Hello all,

before i had downloaded the beta-version 'phoebe' from "RedHat" and i found no way to install the right driver from the 'nvidia-side' so i had to lost the plan for the new version by 'RedHat'.
Now if i download "RedHat 9" - is there a chance to hold the right driver from 'nvidia' with this new 'installer'? And do i have to install it as 'root' or it is also possible as normal user? At last the driver which shipped with "RedHat-Phoebe" before has the 'nv' entrance in the "XF86Config" file - do i have to change it to 'nvidia'?
Sorry for my english!:-)
But for your response i would be lucky!

Yes, the new driver (4349) will work with RH 9's TLS features. Make sure (if it asks) to tell it to use the new TLS, not the "classic" TLS. Unless, of course, you aren't using RH 9, then the correct install is the classic TLS.

And yes, you do need to edit XF86Config to use Driver "nvidia" -- after installing the driver using the new installer thingy.

You need to install as root, and you need to be not running X -- do an /sbin/init 3 from a virtual console to kill off any GUI that's running.

Hi,

at first - thank's a lot for your answer.

Now , remains hoping that there will be no difficulties with the 'Nvidia-GeForce 2 Go' card by trying for "RedHat-Linux 9"?
