Developers already says UT3 is not shader bounded, it's more fill-rate bounded.

R600 lacks seriously in fill-rate part.

Time for ATI to move on for R700 and i heard they will release it next year if i am not mistaken in that.

When you read others saying things like "troll" and such only ONLY because you DONT like what they say.. grow up lol. Now I dont have to say "ooh such and such web site says" I have both cards the 640 oc'd to 650 and still wont beat my 2900. Yes there are some games it gets HIGHER fps. Now I play in Vista 64 and if you have to go to XP to beat ATI then something is really wrong. Well read the box. Read what NVIDIA says about its cards and Vista. With my 2900 in 3 systems I can play with all the settings and they stay and ALL work. Now if Image sharpening worked but most likely never will and DV stayed on and 3d worked I would sell my ATI. God I just LOVE when others talk about POWER the 2900 needs! I'm betting 95% owners of the gts/gtx NEVER over the time they had the card looked to see how much more power they have been using. No they say "well so and so web site says" lmao. As for AA aaa af (I use AF) you know I never use them. To me it always makes the game look worse. I play on a 24" 19x12 so what do I care. If you only have a Nvidia then be happy. This is OTHER desktop cards forum.

If you bought a 2900 and you're happy with it, great. But for someone to come into a thread and start posting **** about the 2900 being superior to the 8800GTS because:

The 2900 is a better value, when he overpaid for a 320MB GTS
The GTS doesn't perform as well as a 2900 at higher resolutions/with AA/AF enabled, when he bought the GTS with 320MB of memory! Hello? Duh! Alert the media! A card with 320MB of memory on a 320-bit bus doesn't perform as well as a card with 512MB of memory on a 512-bit bus? SHOCKING! :rolleyes2
He didn't have to worry about the power requirements, so why should anyone else? Riiiight. (No, I didn't measure my power usage with my GTS, but I looked on the box and my 5 year old Antec 430W PSU would have been enough to run it. With the 2900? My current PSU doesn't even meet the requirements. Its a consideration people need to account for.)
He posts repeatedly about some FPS per $$ measurement that "nVidia lost," yet conveniently hasn't posted a link to it. I did, and nVidia didn't lose.
He posts about ATI's drivers being superior, and yet here we are, months after release, with the current driver out not enabling AF in DX10 games (although it's soon to be fixed), and the forums are filled with posts defending the 2900 with "wait till the drivers mature." Wasn't part of the reason for the delay of this product to have top-notch drivers upon release?Add it up, and it equals troll. He even has one of the mods telling him he's making a fool of himself.

You don't use AA/AF (or maybe you do use AF, I can't tell from your post), great. That's your setup. But he was basically saying that because of his reasoning, everyone should think that way. He's a troll, and it's not just because I (or the others here who feel the same) "don't like what he says."

Oh, and "if you have to go to XP to beat ATI then something is really wrong"??? WTF does that mean? The install base of XP is much, much higher than Vista (and certainly than Vista 64). IMO, if you have to go to Vista 64 to beat nVidia, then something is really wrong. ;)

XP is still the gamer's choice by at least 4 to one. When Vista gets debugged in another year or so it will be fine and Nvidia will still be superior.
