anyone else notice this? i feel like i have more lag in Vista. i play significantly better in FPS games under XP.

the only problem is, my 8800GTS has constant stuttering and framerate drops in XP for UT2004 so I have to use Vista and its mouse lag. lose/lose situation. =\

(i even did the usbport to 1000Hz patch... still too much lag for comfort).

If anything, it is a lot smoother under Vista for me, using both my MX 1000 and my MX Revolution :D

are any of you using registry mousefix tweaks? if so, which one?

Yes, I notice it too.. Which is why I still run XP 98% of the time.

I have almost the same sensitivity in most of my games as before.

For example, cs source, I have my windows sensitivity (setpoint) maxed and set to 14.5 in the game console. Quite snappy. I sometimes kick it up to 15.5 if I am not exhausted from work :)

I wonder if the video card has anything at all to do with the feel of the mouse?

I am sure a bug was recently acknowledged by Logitech and would be fixed in the next setpoint release - don't think it relates too much though!

Think it was actually more to do with slow down in games for some reason.

I see absolutely no difference in mouse feel on my G5 mouse between XP and Vista when the settings are the same.

You got it. Logitech mouses lag and skip and stop in vista whereas MS and Razer have no such problem there. The Logitech wireless ones are the worst culprits. I think is the way the logitech hardware interfaces with usb because even without setpoint the problems remain. I don't think setpoint will ever completely be able to fix this.

I use a Logitech at home and a Microsoft at work, both laser mice. Neither of them skip and stop in Vista or XP for that matter. I've no experience with wireless mice.

always set the windows mouse sensitivity slider to the middle which is a 1:1 input translation, always adjust the sensivity to your liking in either the mouse drivers or more preferably, the game. This avoids any possible distortion of mouse input at low level before they're aplified by whatever multiplier or divisor the game sets on top of that.

Vista still feels slightly weird compared to XP, not as responsive.

i dont think its jsut vista.. there is a problem with the wireless connection on some of them... i have 2 mx revolutions that kept freezing from time to time... i asked for a g7 instead and this one is working perfect so far... using xp 32 and setpoint 4.0

I actually just noticed this when I booted into Vista last night. I thought my settings were off or I had gotten used too used to my mouse at work.

I get very little to no diference in feel between XP and Vista 64 ,if anything there was a consistant mouse acceleration in XP that had to be patched that is not present in Vista. So I suppose I like the Vista feel better ,one less patch to install.

In the Logitech SetPoint settings try changing under speed and acceleration whether it is setpoint or OS implementation. Mine was really bad when set to OS but got better once I set it to SetPoint implementation. It still doesn't seem as smooth as XP was though. I have a G5 also.
