Cant install driver in RH 8.0

Hi!

I am a complete Linux n00b and tried to install the drivers downloaded from nvidia-page in a new installed redhat 8.0. (Its a GeForce 2go). The driver loads and then says something like "ld of binutils not found or path not specified".

Whats wrong here?
Please help me!

Can you please post a copy of /var/log/nvidia-installer.log?

Do you have binutils and gcc installed?

Post the nvidia-installer.log file anyway, though, whether or not you have those packages installed.

Hi!

Well, it seems I have no binutils installed. Where can I find them and how can I install them?
At the moment I can't post the logfile since internet-access in redhat doesn't work any more (without making any changes :-(

The binutils package is on your RH CDs somewhere.
