I'm on newegg looking at 8800GTXs, and now the EVGA 8800GTX is $516, the Gigabyte and MSI 8800GTX at $499, and PNY at $529 (all of these are non overclocked, except MSI)

New NVIDIA graphics card coming out around September/October?

Great deals to be had on the GTX's now.

Wouldn't doubt some crazy 9xxx series will debut by the end of the year. That upsets me because I just bought a BFG 8800GTS, now I'm going to feel obsolete.

I think it's sad that when the 9 series cards come out, they will be around $600, but the 8800GTXs will still be around the same price. I'm waiting until the 8800GTX gets around $250 or $300.

I have a Foxconn G80, If i bought a EVGA G80 and sli'd them would it work fine as long as i ran the EVGA at the same clock as the Foxconn?

It's not going to reach that price unless you get them second hand when the new Nvidia cards come out. They simply get phased out when a new product arrives.

Yeah you can mix vendors. do you really need that much power for a 19" monitor though. I had SLI with a 19" LCD and really there was no difference I didn'y notice an improvement until I got my 24 WS. Unless you are thinking that the next gen of games will need that type of horsepower to run max at 1280x1024 or whatever your max res is.

The reason I may be going to sli is that i may get a new monitor

well with my new c2d build on the way i doubt i can afford even a GTS, and i dont want to settle for the 320mb version. wish they would come down a bit

I'm sure they will but it's going to test your will to hold out. I would think in the next quarter AMD/ATI really hammered us by not pushing NVIDIA this round.

I think graphic card prices are like the price of gas, unstable!
