View Full Version : Mandrake 9.1 and X issue.....

I installed the latest driver .run and changed my X config files and when I startx I see the nvidia logo...kde starts..then just hangs forever..its weird cause I can still move the mouse so its not totally frozen..when I switch back to "nv" in x config it works fine...im running a geforce 2 ultra...on a kt266a chipset..i was wondering if it was a agp issue?? I have fast writes and other unneccessaries disabled in bios...Im dying to get up and running...

Does it load with a different window manager, like twm?

I posted in the other 9.1 vs nvidia thread and I'd rather not repost the large text dump I posted there.

This is exacly what happens on mine and I can say that changing to twm had no effect.

One thing I found interesting was my .xsession-errors file:
