Who is gonna get it? I can't wait. This is the very reason why I bought the PS3. I can't wait to bust some heads with this game! :D

I'm not getting it until EA gets their act together. The last few Maddens have sucked imo.
The PS3 version is going to be gimped anyway.

QFT! EA decided that putting the extra effort in to get Madden 08 to run at 60fps on the PS3 was not worth it. It's all about the almighty $ with EA. I guess we are starting to see the effects of poor PS3 sales. Smaller install base = poor quality ports from Devs. :thumbdwn:

I prefer All-Pro 2K8, but I'd take the PS3 version over the 360 version. Why?
30/60ps difference doesn't bother me. It does bother me that, if I want to play online, I have to PAY for the 360 version, whereas I can play the PS3 version online for free.
I don't understand why everyone is up in arms because Microsoft charges you $4.16 a month for Xbox Live. That's about 13 cents a day... if you can't afford that then you shouldn't be playing video games. No one can deny that the Xbox Live service is not worth a measly $4 a month. It's superior to the PSN in everyway.

@ Disciple : I'll be getting it, but I just rented 2007 and let me tell ya, before I play you I'm going to practice for a good long while :P

If it were the only option, yes, it would be worth it. However, Option 1 (XBox Live) costs money. Option 2 (PSN) is free. For the same game, I'll take free over monthly fee.
I CAN Afford it, but why throw money away?

To each his own I guess but I prefer Xbox Live over the PSN for the simple fact that ALL multiplayer games have seamless robust online integration with easy match making and voice chat with Xbox Live. Not to mention how simple it is to start online games and invite friends quickly and easily. All this is something the PSN is working on but as of now lacks. It seems like each PS3 game that offers online multiplayer is using some custom setup which is tolerable at best. Deal with the growing pains of the PSN for free or pay a reasonable fee and enjoy the best that online gaming has to offer? Hmmmm...

NCAA '08 is ****e on the PS3, so expect the same for Madden I'm afraid.

That sucks. NCAA 08 is OK on the 360. The game stutters at times between plays and the graphics are a bit disappointing. The gameplay itself is smooth and I love the way it gets the current weather from the weather channel and adds it to the game.
I wish EA would have a set up where anybody on PC/PS3/360 could play anybody else.

Interesting signature.

Most people would pay more money for something better.

I don't get why ppl say better. As long as im playing online its all good. I have a 360 and live and the only game play on live is shadowrun. What makes Live better because im sure not seeing it. I just want to get online and play games like I do with my PC.

I personally don't own a 360, so I can't respond to either side...However, if I found that say X-Box Live was much better than PSN, I sure as hell would pay $5 for it...Honestly, I think my threshold would be MMORPG prices wich are $15 a month. If it was $15 a month, but much better than the free version, I would pay the price...Alas, until I'm sure that the bugs in the 360 are fixed, and I have the extra cash (wich will be soon hopefully), I won't be testing XBOX - Live...

The only madden I did not like is the PS3 2007 version. The last few Maddens I've bought for my ps2 was excellent.

One of my roommates will probably end up getting the game.
And really, the PSN isn't that bad at all...it really just depends on the game.
Take Resistance for example. The matchmaking/online features on it are every bit as good as those found in Halo 2 with XBox Live if not better since there are dedicated servers.
I really enjoy the fact that PSN offers dedicated servers for free, while Live makes you pay for player hosted games...I mean really, don't you just love it when the host quits the game? :p

I would've bought it (for 360), but I jumped on all pro 2k8 given the current lack of games. I am enjoying this game (apf) a lot anyway.
