perHUB is tool that you run on top of game, and shows you a lot of info so you can compare performance of different cards.

for vista is 32bit only and supports these cards

So they are legit then? Any info on what was fixed since it's a dev build?

It's says 'Windows XP instrumented driver for PerfHUD' on the drivers listed at the top. Does that mean the are the drivers for Perhud 5 beta, cos the ones on Softpedia don't mention Perhud 5 beta.

"Special instrumented driver" - wonder what that means, guess slowdowns and API for Perhud 5 support? These do not seem good for normal (gaming, non-dev) usage..

I've been using 163.13 perfhud drivers for vista/xp for few days now and they seem fine so these should be ok too, you can disable the instrumentation option in the .inf or registry once you install them and they'll be just a normal driver then ;)

Will the Softpedia ones be the same?

There's an option in the driver .inf "DriverInstrumentationEnabled" just chaged value to 0 and its just like a normal driver! ;)

Can someone verify that these are working and real?
Are these Nvidia drivers or are they from someone else?

Since the PerfHUD betas have been around for a bit, how come, no one (outside of game developers) has thought of using them for:

a) benchmarking and

b) determining CPU bottlenecks?

I'm assuming that option a) has been dismissed, because most retail video games have the PerfHUD access disabled. Also, does the PerfHUD option add too much overhead to be of any use at all, except to software developers?

There's an option in the driver .inf "DriverInstrumentationEnabled" just changed value to 0 and its just like a normal driver! ;)

Someone mentioned before that the PerfHUD driver option has been there in previous drivers, but it has been turned off by default. I wasn't able to find the registry entry in any recent .inf file, except this one. Which drivers had this option?

As an aside, for DX10 people, the Sparkle demo seems like a possible replacement for rthdribl. BTW, these drivers are real and can be downloaded directly from nVidia (See the original post in this thread.).

All drivers for Nvidia cards come from Nvidia, leaked, beta, whql, all of them.

No Vista x64 version though :( .

They are legit drivers, just not intended for end users. They are 'instrumented' which means they collect runtime stats on what is being drawn on screen, to help game developers tune their software. The driver should work as well as any but *may* be slightly slower even with instrumentation disabled as there may be extra code executed to support the instrumentation feature.
