will evga allow it , does anyone know?
Im without a graphics card at the moment and im just thinking about my options, I may just get a cheap ass card to tide me over till the 8900's are released

hopefully on the same day as crysis.

The answer is probably a big NO ,they dont let you step up to an unreleased product , do they?

Forget it, I'll do what I usually do , Buy at the wrong time and waste money on an underpowered card.
Its only money after all.

If you buy an 8800 now, and the 8900 is released within the step-up period, then you can use the step-up option. If the 8900 is released after the step-up period has expired, then you're out of luck.

What with the evga shipping charges its probably better to just sell the 8800 on ebay just before the 8900 release date/ 8800 price drop.

Don't you have to step up to the next available fastest card though? That would be an 8800 Ultra if he bought the GTX now. Should be able to step-up if you buy the Ultra and IF the 8900 comes out by the end of your 90 days. IMO, Nvidia is in no hurry because there really isn't any competition for the 8800 GTX/Ultra now anyway.

You can step up to any card that you want, I think.

I hope that's true because I only have about 30 days left. ;)

Not too likely you'll be seeing an 8900 in the next 30 days...

November is likely when the next NVIDIA series comes out. And even then it's up to EVGA to add the card to the step-up program. You'd have to wait until September probably at the very earliest to be eligible for the step-up program for the 9 series.

Has that list been discredited? The one with the chinese on it.
