The NBA will hang this guy out and beat him like a red-headed step child. Isolate, my rear end.
The NBA has been a joke for the past 15 years. I absolutely hate it with a passion. From the hip-hop theme at every game to the WWE way they promote the game. It is pathetic. The NBA I loved growing up is no more. The quality of play is down and when a team like the Spurs win, no one cares because it isn't flashy. BS! they play basketball like champs and they out classed every one.
The NBA is a classless joke that needs to be reformed or dismantled.
I used to be a avid Sonics fan since I can remember. Now they most likely will move and I don't care. Good riddance. They turned on the fans and told us to piss off. No you piss off and leave town and take your suck with you.

The NBA is more exciting nowadays than it has ever been. I'm sorry you enjoy talentless players of college and looking up the short shorts of old NBA player videos.
NBA is the best sport organization in the world. There is no comparison.

more exciting than ever?? More exciting than the Larry Bird/ Magic Johnson days when teams used to score 120 points + every game? More exciting than watching Michael Jordan play? What's exciting about it? LeBron is going to be a great player one day.... Kobe is the NBA's version of T.O., Shaq is old, Vince Carter... who's he again?? The NBA finals just ended in 4 games....about as unexciting as it can get.

True. My problem is the complete show that the game has become. It isn't about the game any more. It is about the time out show, the end of the quarter show and the lights and half time show. It is all hip hop all the time. I hate it. I just want to watch the game. Instead we have to watch street thugs cram tatoos over every part of their body and try to be Jordan. This is not how it was when I was a kids.
The talent can be turned around and the game play can be turned around also. The problem is the NBA wants the sloppy fast paced game that only ADD kids gang kids like to watch.
WRT the talentless college game comment, that didn't make any sense. The NBA comes from the NCAA.
The NBA can be fixed, if they have the courage to move away from the hip hop theme and embrace a more sports and talent based theme to the league.
There is a reason why their viewership is down.
Give me college players who are (for the most part) actually trying every game rather than overpaid professionals who are pacing themselves just to get through a season that's too long because it makes somebody money.

Geez...I have a feeling this only going to get worse.:(
Brand new article from Chris Sheridan after the David Stern news conference:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&id=2947549
"I've been involved with the NBA for 40 years in some shape or form, and I can tell you that this is the most serious situation and worst situation that I have ever experienced, either as a fan of the NBA, a lawyer for the NBA or as a commissioner of the NBA," Stern said.

Yea the NBA might be more exciting now because there really are some phenominal athletes playing in this league, but the product is getting worse every year. Why do you think the rest of the world is catching up to us and now beating us in the Olympics and world championships? The kids growing up now only see highlights on espn of all these dunks and 3pt. shots so that is what we are good at. Noone can shoot a mid-range jumpshot anymore, run a pick & roll, and freethrows... forget about it. The old school teams of yesterday would wipe the floor with all the teams of today, no problem.

I will always love the game...I started watching during the Laker's Showtime era...I still love the game today...Of course it has changed, some for the better and some for the worse, but it's still the most elite league around (better than football, baseball, etc). What do you mean it's "too hip hop". You havn't seen them try to move away from that? Have you already forgotten that Stern implimented a dress code (suit)? Oh well, I guess you guys don't have to watch, but I'll be watching all season long...

No, I haven't. I went to a game just last year and I hated it. I would rather take my son to my old high school and watch the kids play on a Thursday night. They try their hardest, the fans are into it and it is only a mile from my house. And don't forget it is a fraction of the price.
I want to love this league again but I can't until they clean it up. They need to start with fundamentals of the game. That is how the rest of the world is catching up.
They also need to have a rule to make it so you have to play 3 years in college. This will develop the talent much better. I know that isn't going to happen but man, they need to make men out of the gangsters before they enter the league.

WHAT!
*cough* Steve Nash *cough*
I do agree with you. MJ's Bulls and Magic's Lakers would destroy the teams of today, but I think there is something special in the Phoenix suns. Man, I love watching those guys play. Mavericks are also a fun team to watch, but the Suns... man.... and especially with Grant Hill.. can't believe they signed him. That team is stacked.
Starting five of:
Steve Nash
Shawn Marion
Amare Stoudamire
Grant Hill
Raja Bell
^^^That's a freaking all-star team
not to mention a bench of Barbosa, Diaw, (and alando tucker their draft is looking pretty good - I saw him play at Nash's charity classic).

QFT. The Suns will be UNSTOPPABLE next year. I am still in shock they picked up Grant Hill for so cheap. Most teams are lucky if they have 2-3 good players on their team. The Sun's have a better BENCH than most NBA team STARTING LINEUPS!

IMHO The Suns should have won the championship this year. They had hands down the best team. If it wasn't for the unjust Amare suspension and the referee's being complete douchbags, the Sun's would have won it all. There is no team in the NBA that can remotely touch the Sun's talent wise. The Spurs are a joke in comparison.
Thats coming from a person who hates the Suns. I can't stand them, mainly due to the fact their team is so stacked. Its almost unfair.
The Suns didn't even have the best record in the league and they had tough cover assignments/matchups with Dallas and the Spurs and Houston.
The Spurs were not at their best, far from it. Dallas was, for 90% of the regular season, the best team.
The Suns WERE the most entertaining team however.

Dallas was the best in REGULAR season. Every playoff they ever reach they choke in. They will never win an NBA Finals. They lost against one of the worst teams in the NBA. There is no way anyone can convince me Dallas is the "best" team. They have some of the "best" players, but the lack of leadership severely hurts them when the going gets tough.
