Nvidia has used dual board solution before. I dunno if it was 1 AGP + 1 PCI or 2 PCI. This was on the quadro line.

As for SLI, you won't see that with the AGP spec. I guess it's possible with PCI-X, but i've seen no definite spec which says such a set up is possible. I assume it will be, however.
Actually the latest agp spec (What was the spec for AGP 8x called? AGP 3.0?) Does allow for dual AGP slots that would allow for a two card design, however no motherboard has supported this feature... because there really isn't any reason too as no graphics cards have been or will be designed for it. If dual card solutions to resurface it will likely wait until PCI-X as you say.

I think nvidia is puttting down it's gfx. why would you announce your next video card, when you have one that still isnt even widely available. Even nvidia knows it's gfx is not as good as they thought. I just hope the nv35 redeems nvidia. At least that is what most everybody is saying. However, they said the same about the nv30. We'll just wait and see.
The NV35 hasn't been announced.

Not officially, but they've bloody been "leaking" specs and rumors of it daily on it's "imminent" release. (Replace "imminent" with "please, please, PLEASE don't buy a 9800 Pro and believe us when we say we're REALLY gonna put out a GOOD card soon!!!!" )
True, but where do you think all these rumours about new Radeons have sprung from? 256mb R350, MAXX configurations...

Yeah, that's probably true.

Posted at GPU:RW that the NV35 should be announced at E3. Not like anyone didn't know it. E3 even says nVidia will unveil new products at their booth - I guess that's a sufficent proof for my theory :)

Uttar Let's just hope that NV releases it MUCH closer to its paper launch than the NV30 was. I'm in the market this fall, and hopefully the competition puts a better board in my hands than what otherwise would have been out.
I'm also looking to get a new card this year, around September time, along with a whole system overhaul. It's looking increasingly like it's going to be between the NV35 and the R390.
I admit to being an nVidiot, and so i'd like to go nVidia again. But if they stumble again, and the R390 can stretch the lead some more, i can definitely see my first ATi card being shipped ;)

It seems that NVIDIA is going to announce their NV35 at E3 next month.
Everybody is focusing on the NV35 but I'm more interested in the NV36
which is supposed to be announced also in E3.
If you have following the discussion in Beyond3D forum lately,
you will notice that the FX5600 ultra have been delayed(probably cancelled).
Instead a lower clock version of NV31 (non ultra) is to be released.
This is logical because when the NV35 is released, the performance gap
between the enthusiasist lineup is too big.
So the NV36 is filling that gap. So IMHO NVIDIA 2H lineup will be:-
Enthusiasist
-------------------------------
NV35 ultra (replace NV30)
NV35
Performance mainstream
-------------------------------
NV36 ultra (replace NV31)
NV36
NV31
Mainstream
-------------------------------
NV34 ultra
NV34

I'd be highly surprised if the NV36 would be announced at E3.
It's just too early for it. There has been no tape-out rumors, nothing. I'm still wondering what the NV33 is, though...

NV31 A01 samples available now, A02 samples early February, volume production expected early March.
I noticed some question about NV33/NV34 configuration earlier: it is 4x1.
As expected, next high end part is NV35, next consumer part is NV36.
Specs:
NV31
0.13u
DX9
4x1 pipeline
128 bit memory interface, DDR-1
300Mhz core
Z culling, Z compression, Color compression
HW IDCT, iQuant, MC for DVD
Dual integrated 400Mhz Ramdacs
Integrated TV encoder, TMDS transmitters
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Uttar,
You probably right. NV31 is going for another spin and will be re-release at E3.
But NV36 not so soon, probably in July....
But I'm really interested to know about NV36.
Please CMKRNL. (It seems his account has been removed from nvnews, don't know why)

Do you really think they will have their highest end card named NV35 and the next lower card NV36?????
Oh wait, they might be using the same naming logic that they use in their AF quality settings.
My bad.
