about to try them. Hopefully some good performance increase in LP and better Video IQ than the ones I am currently using...

All WHQL means is that you can run windows without any problems with them. It has nothing to do with how buggy the driver is in other applications. When is nvidia going to release 16x.xx drivers that work with GRAW2?

Well ive done some work to find out what might be keeping me from opening up the control panal.

I did the complete removal of old drivers,"94.94", and went with these, and still no cp.

I noticed during the detection of the second card. I get a **** load of horizontal lines and can't make out whats on the desktop. i hit enter to reboot and things are ok. NO cp though.

I went back to 94.94, and i get the bad horizontal lines with older drivers and i don't remember getting them before, but i get the CPL and yea i thought of maybe second could be failing but i don't think so being i can enable SLI just fine and sli games play fine no artifacts either.

I don't think the second card causing my screen to show a mess of horizontal lines would effect the cpl from opening up.

I redid the chipset drivers too and no new CPL so im stuck on the 93.81's cuz they are the best.

So anything over 100 series don't open cpl for me.

Are the issues in GRAW2 fixed with this driver?

Sounds like reformat time.

The 3 major bugs that I've posted about (CoolBits OC, VMR9 color control, and VMR9 zoom) are still around. To get a fully functioning driver with none of those bugs, one has to use a pre-9x.xx driver. Although I've stumbled on a workaround for the VMR9 color bug: go into vid and tv section of the new CP and enable Edge Enhancement and/or Noise Reduction. Once either of those are set to anything other than zero, color controls using the VMR9 renderer magically work again in vid apps such as Zoomplayer.

I've been using the beta set of this driver for a few weeks now. I'll wait for something else to come along before I install new drivers. Doubt there is any difference between these beta ones I'm using and the official WHQL ones released.

another proof that most people don't have any idea what whql is.

MS runs the driver with Verifier, they probably have more advance version, but pretty much everyone can do their own test.

type "verifier" in run box

if it doesn't crash windows, and won't cause problems, MS charges few thousands and gets signed.

well iŽll give these a run soon enough but for now i use 158.22 as some games run better on these (Graw 2) or shadows work at least

well anyways iŽll try them and see what happens

Hey SLippe (or another mod), it's probably time to clean up the stickies. This should be the only sticky driver as all the others are out of date.

Tell me what you guys find in GRAW2.. I'm very interested.. Since 158.22 works perfectly in GRAW2 for me, I'm very hesitant for changing drivers.

Its the same as the non-wqhl drivers. No shadows in Graw2 f.e. We will probably have to wait longer until either Grin or NVidia fixes the problem.

The file dates are the same, the only difference is it now has a July .CAT file for the WHQL.

I've been using the beta of these for a few weeks with no issues, but I updated anyway.

I don't play GRAW though.

Why would i have to reformat cuz of the CP? Is there something in windows not liking the CP?

Formatting is for serious drastic measures. I don't have those problems just can't open CP.

I did get coolbits to run with a 90 series and Geforms locked up during a 10 minute duration.

Im getting to believe the second card could be failing but that wouldn't keep the CP from opening.

Still doesn't work with my Samsung 931BW flat panel since v162.15 on my side :thumbdwn:

See here (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=1297721#post1297721) for details.

I would say time for a format too. When things like that happen it just means you have corruption somewhere in the OS. Its a goofy problem no one else is having, just reformat and all should be fine. ;)

So anything over 100 series don't open cpl for me.

I too had this exact problem in fact. Strangely enough the problem was resolved for me and I could not find where the problem was. I uninstalled some other drivers and reinstalled and got it to work without finding why it happened (should have done it more systematically but I was a bit frustrated).

F.e. one driver I uninstalled was logitech mousedriver setpoint 3.30 which was causing otherproblems a few times upon login. I installed setpoint 3.10 instead, which I still use although I plan to try setpoing 4.00.

You can even find a thread where I complain about that problem here on nvnews
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=89949
So I didn't have to re-install but cant help you pinpoint the problem, sorry.

Btw, have you tried enabling the old control panel via the registry?
