I really wanted the updates but didn't install them because, I couldn't run any vid card OC apps I like Rivatuner or ATItool and few others. I finally tried Power Strip (latest ver.) and it has no trouble with the "signed driver" requirement. So I now I can run fully updated

Request the hotfixes here:

Yes, they fix the annoying BF2/BF2142 problem.

Which problem is that? Are you referring to the problem where it CTD everytime a new map loads if you have over 2GB of RAM in Vista x64, because if that's the case, this makes me VERY happy! Please let me know if this is the fix for the problem I'm talking about.

Also, I want to use RT too, but I only use it to O/C, but if ExperTool works, I'm fine with that. Just as long as I have something that will boot with the O/C settings I want.

Ditto.

There are three patches, I think. These two and then that 2GB one.

Ya know what's weird though, I haven't d/led the patch for the driver signing enforcement, yet I can't bypass it with the bcdedit command. It's just not there, so I'm thinking MS must have repackaged it within another update or renamed it.

Now, I didn't have have the update for large memory address fix though, but I do know and it works great. You say there are 3 updates. What's the third one? There's the driver signing enforcement, large memory address with 32-bit games and 64-bit OS's, and then what's the third one and where can I get it?

Thanks!

I think I found an easier way to uninstall any patches or updates.
Go to windows update window. Look up into left corner and click view history.
Next window at the upper right hand corner click installed updates. I found my reliabilty patch and ininstalled it. I hope this helps.

Man it looks like you have got nVida Forceware 158.45 on vista 64 bit........ Well I have got a problem regarding this!!! I have the same spec as yours on M1710 and I have Windows vista Ultimate 64 bit and I can't get the software on it, I did download the software from DELL but that driver is ****e because I couldn't get the same performance as I use to on my XP home edition for Counter Strike Source.... So please give the best possible advice!!!

I've been using EXPERTool and it looks like it has fan controls. Apparently they paid for driver signing since it works with the latest drivers.

Any updates on this? I ran the Windows6.0-KB940105-x64.msu package on my week old install of Vista SP1 x64 and have patched BF2 to 1.41 but can't get anything to load. It has never been run on this computer before but on my old XP Pro SP2 it ran just fine.

Thanks!

I'm using RivaTuner now since it works with the latest Forceware driver which is 169.25 for my G80. It works great too I might add!
