Nvidia's performance growth of 82% in shipped units is just outstanding!

I'm afraid to think of that. i love Nvidia thats true , but always like to see competition on the other side!

Agree, keeps companys somewhat honest with pricing and will drive tech higher and higher faster! = better more powerful cheaper hardware for us!

They're (ATi) not about to go down.

They're (ATi) not about to go down.

You say that like you know what your talking about...:afro:

Thing is nvidia is growing VERY quickly. ATI not so much.. going backwards quickly infact.
But your right I would be suprised if ATI/AMD were going anywhere soon. They are still a HUGE company with alot of backing.

Only time will tell.

Looks like releasing good products apart from the 680i hiccup is reaping rewards for Nvidia. I must admit I thought the R600 was going to be faster than the G80 by some margin. I was wrong as usual.

 No need for that comment.

History shows that either of the two companies can go way down but manage to stay afloat.

Now if they could only release proper drivers....

Intel buys it(or perhaps some other well to-do company)

If they went down more than likely someone would come along and buy it. Likely at a discount, and at a huge loss to the investors.

You do know that AMD bought ATI a while ago right? So there is no way intel will be buying ATI. Unless of course AMD sold ATI to Intel....that would be interesting....

AMD bought ATI? since when? I can't believe you fell for that.

NVIDIA are driving for a bigger slice of the handheld pie. Thats a huge market. I am pretty suprised by no new announcement of the handheld GoForces, well hand held platform devices from NVIDIA recently. Wonder if they will announce soon

Intel can not buy AMD due to the anti trust laws.

The same can not be said about any other company that dwells in x86 technology ...

Wonder if all the statement by NVIDIA about not being in x86 CPU market is actuall all bluff. Maybe they might go the path of fabless CPU manufacturer.

Would be interesting....but a whole new ballgame for NVIDIA. They'd have to be really innovative to get on the same performance as Intel and AMD who have done it for yonks on the x86 market

Thee thing is do they have enough resources to invest in making a decent cpu. With two players on the market I think they should just stick to what they are doing now.

I think AMD and ATI should have stayed seperate.Or ATI should have made it's mid and low-end cards, good so it could have took that market and that is where the profit is.All ATI(AMD) had to do is made there 2400 and 2600 with 256bit buss and they would have been faster then nvidia mid and low end cards and there sales might have been going up instaed of down.

If anyone bought AMD/ATI I think it would be IBM, totally off the top of my head guess.

Personally I think mcdonalds would be more likely to buy it :afro2:
