Amazing amazing feat. He is third fastest persone to reach that number, and if he hadnt played in japan, and instead played in MLB, he would be challenging for the alltime lead.
I always like Ichiro because he doesnt just hit, he can climb the fence, steal bases, and has a canon in the outfield.
Its a pleasure to see this guy hit.

I get to watch him play any time I want when they are at home. :D He is one of those players that make you stop what you are doing and watch him bat.

I have been a fan of his since day 1 that he signed with the mariners.

If you don't like it, don't post in the thread.

Any way Toolmeister, you were a GM of a Vanguard guild. You should be one to talk about ZZZZZZ :D

It's hilarious how Ichiro is constantly getting limber and stretching. If he wanted to, he could probably play baseball for another 20 years.

Go M's by the way... the wildcard is in sight if they can win some series' down the stretch.

How many hits does he have combined between Japan and here, professionally?

And yes, he is a pleasure to watch, simply because there isn't anyone else who can pull off that crazy swing of his lol.

It's so lovely and yet so impossible.

Wildcard? My bet is they take their division

Ichiro is amazing. I'm glad he was snagged for a few more years. He's one player who you can always depend on giving you some sort of show- amazing combination of fielder and batter

Pete had how many? Those 4,256 hits in his 24-year career. Ichiro has 912 in four years. He won't even come close and that's too bad. The Japanese should let their better players come over to the Major Leagues earlier. But you don't get true free agency until you've played 10 years over there. That's the rules and that's the way it is. So Pete's record is safe.

But Ichiro's single-season hits record stands right up there with all the rest of them. He broke a record that's been standing, for what, 84 years? How amazing is that? Before the season is over, he'll have more than 260 hits.

from the Ms website. I guess its an old article since he has 1500 now. And he also got the single season hits record. Glad to see you guys enjoy watching him play as much as me.

Ichi is a much better rightfielder than he is in centerfield. To bad we don't have anyone with wheels to play centerfield so Ichi can go back to Area 51.

Apparently he had 1278 in the big leagues in Japan.

1501 + 1278 == 2779 hits total

Pete's record was 4256 so he's about 1500 hits away professionally from getting there at this pace in terms of professional hits.
