View Full Version : Strange resolution behavior after driver upgrade

I've got a Fujitsu-Siemens W19-1 widescreen monitor, which max resolution is 1440x900. After updating my ForceWare drivers from 94.24 to 162.18, the resolution is set to 1440x900, the monitor reports it's 1280x1024 and to see the whole screen I must drag the mouse pointer to the edge of the screen. After that, the screen will scroll.
How to change that behavior without reverting to the old driver version?

What are your system specs? specifically your nvidia card?

Try driver cleaner. You can get it here (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745) along with other driver versions. Make sure you read the readme on how to properly use it, uninstall your current drivers first, safe mode, make sure you follow every step. It's possible that your old drivers are conflicting with the new ones, and this should fix that.

You could try 158.27 or a similar driver, and see if that fixes the problem, without going all the way back to release 94.

Also when did you update your driver? It could have been before 162.18 was final and whql.

No, I'm sure I downloaded the final WHQL version.
I think I'm a bit too fast, 'cause I downgraded already to the 94 release, :D but It's a very strange problem so I want to know the fix for it. I took some photos and screenshots to describe it better.

It works perfect now, so I don't think I install the 158.27 driver and mess up things second time. :D
Before I installed the 162.18 driver, I cleaned the old version, but manually, not with Driver Cleaner. When I downgraded, I did the same thing.
