I liked Doom 3. Although it's the one time I thought a game was a bit too long...

You play with Last Man Standing? http://lms.d3files.com/

I'll consider reinstalling Doom 3 if you guys want to setup a game.. where you located? I'm in the NW.

I thought Doom 3 was good, I mean yea the story could have been better, but I loved the atmosphere. I personally want to see a Doom 4, who knows maybe they can make it what Doom 3 should have been.

This game looks like its gonna be the same as D3 where you fight 1-3 enemies at once. I personally like games where you have a nice army to fight, squads and swarms are much more challanging to me.

Today, though, id Tech 5 surfaced. Behind closed doors at QuakeCon 2007 in Dallas, id CEO Todd Hollenshead revealed the demo was actually the first look at Rage, an all-new IP. As mentioned at WWDC, the game is in simultaneous development for the PC, Mac, PS3, and 360, and will use the second generation of id's "Megatexture" technology. The game will be come on a single Blu-ray disc for PS3 owners, while all other versions will require two DVDs.

Carmack quashed hopes of a Wii version of the game, saying that the id Tech 5 engine could not be ported to Nintendo's latest system.

How good ID Software engines are all the major titles like Call Of Duty, original Half Life, Medal of Honor games and many others based on Quake 2/3 engine. Doom 3 and Quake 4 are two wonderful games, engines which with adds can do a lot. I don't think a lot of people appreciate what ID Software means for PC and generally Gaming Industry.
Also many do not appreciate Valve Software and their Half Life 2 engine.

Simply...Dark Messiah Might and Magic based on Half Life 2 engine owns Oblivion and many other engines in every aspect.

I honestly don't care about the engine, if they want to write engines great for them but don't make me waste my money by putting out tech demos as if they were games. It has almost always felt this way with games released by ID.

I see more quality games being released by other studios using their engine then what ID releases themselves.

Problem with Valve is that everyone loves their games but they take forever to release them that they feel dated once released.

Half Life was actually based on the quake 1 engine, but very very heavily modified.

It's the engine HL2 is based off of.

id Games now available on Steam!

I bought me the id Package consisting of every game. Well, it is missing a few games they didn't directly make like Quake 4 and the expansion to Hexen II and Commander Keen 6: Aliens Ate My Babysitter.

If anyone wants to play some multi, let me know.

Yeah even though I already own most of them been thinking about picking the pack up since being on Steam would make installing the games soo much easier then digging through my CDs.

The Source Engine is made to constantly evolve. I think this will always be the case so that their old games can be updated simultaneously.
