Well, I've posted to 2 other threads related to this and sent an email directly to linux-bugs@nvidia.com, but since I haven't seen any direct response to any of that, and Andy has asked people w/ problems to open new threads, I'll go ahead and post my own.

I've already tried most of the things suggested in related threads to no avail. I've got twm to come up, but as soon as it launches an xterm it stops responding. I've tried "nvidiaAGP" "0", it seems to launch the xterm more fully, but still hangs.

I get the nVidia logo splash, X and kde seem to load fine until kde gets to the end of it's boot process and then fairly hard hang. I CAN get in via ssh from my iMac and from there I can kill X, but the actual keyboard on the k62 is now dead as a doornail until I reboot. Hope I didn't include too much kruft. I'd really like to get this machine back up w/3D. Let me know if you need any more info.

We must have missed it. I apologize for that.

1.0-3123 works without issue? If so, the best advice I can give you is to stick with it. I'll try to reproduce your hang here.

I haven't gotten any accellerated nVidia driver to work yet under 9.1. I just tried downgrading to 1.0-3123 using the srpm for the kernel module. It all built and installed fine, but this one hangs w/ a white screen, not even a proper logo.

It may have been one of the 2xxx series that I was running under 8.0, I hadn't updated in a while. :(

Saturday, I even tried re-installing MDK 9.1 (bamboo) - Both times I've don this (first from MDK 8.0 and then starting over) I've re-formatted my / and /usr partitions, leaving /var and /home untouched.

I get the same hang from trying to start X as Root (which had it's home dir nuked w/ the re-install) - Could there be anything in /var making trouble?

As I said before, it sure looks like X is taking off just fine, but it gets to the point you should be able to use it and locks.

Any luck re-pro'ing it, Andy?
