These still have the same problem as all the other 16x.xx drivers with nvlddmkm errors when SLI is enabled with Vista x64. I can stop the errors easily enough by disabling desktop composition (clear third checkbox of the visual effects features in advanced system properties) which kills Aero. Disabling SLI also eliminates the error. In other words, Aero/DX10 and SLI remain incompatible with the 16x.xx drivers. Individually they work fine.

With the 158.45 drivers everything works fine, no problems running Aero, Dreamscene, games etc even with SLI enabled. But these drivers lack DX10 SLI capability which I see as the main remaining issue with the Vista drivers.

I have tried all the reported fixes to deal with the nvlddmkm errors, including the TDR settings in the registry, unclocking memory, increasing and decreasing NB voltages, etc. These solutions likely have addressed other causes of the nvddmkm errors, including all the ones with single GPU setups, but not the DX10/Aero SLI incompatibility. With the registry patched, PC2-8500 memory underclocked to 667 with slack timings, and CPU running stock I can still reliably trigger the error by navigating through favorites in the IE7 explorer bar -- not a taxing workload for the GPU but obviously utilizing some of Aero's DX10 functionality.

Nvidia please address this problem !!!

with build in vista photo gallery, also opening video clips in WMP11 is slower too.

ohhhhhHH! I'm having the same issue with Media Player Classic suddenly and I thought it was because of the beta performance Vista updates I installed but ya I installed these drivers on the same day too so glad to see I'm not the only one. I double click on any video and Media Player Classic opens and sits for about 10 sec or so before it starts playing. Very annoying, glad to see it's just the video driver that's causing it though.

Actually I just noticed this too... went back to 163.11.

163.11 still have great performance, FEAR runs great for me at 1920x1200, 2xAA,8xAF, Soft shadows everything max. If I tried to run it at those settings earlier in the Vista driver cycle... may I say.... 20fps :captnkill:

Same here. With the 163.16's I was having the exact same issue in WMP as well as WMP Classic. I rolled back to 163.11, which fixed it.

I think 163.11 are dream drivers. I don't have a single issue with these, Oblivion runs very well (only game I'm playing ATM), and no issues, no errors etc. It will take a really nice review on some new drivers to get me to change.

Are profiles still not saving with this set? The recent release notes state the following for 163.11 drivers and the problem exists with the 162.50 drivers as well.

Windows Vista 32-bit Issues (and 64-bit in this case)
Single GPU Issues
All GPUs

• Custom application profiles and changes to the default application profile settings are not saved across system reboots. [331330]

Your playing 1 game and it works, so your calling them dream drivers?

Umm no offence but umm don't you think you should test more games and issues before making such a statement?

Try setting game res higher or lower than desktop res and tell me if Digital Vib sticks within a game? lol there's one issue, there are many more.
All in all they are very good for being Beta but they are FAR from dream drivers lmao

Well if that is the only game he plays and it works then let it be. Also I never use DV since they have had on a nvidia card. I think it looks ugly and I have been using nvidia cards since the 32mb MX cards.
