Well he finally hit it tonight, now the record books are tainted forever.

By the way, here is yet another example of someone who could destroy Bigman.

Nice to see you have an asterisks in the title of this tread. Deservedly so.:D;)
I have Hank Aarons autograph and in my book he is still the best slugger ever.

That's for sure.:D
Kudo's for getting there.
However he did it, it's a heck of a lot of hardwork and you tend to need just a smidgen of skill to get there :)
I do wanna know, just how many would the Babe have had if he weren't pitching all those seasons and hadn't been suspended from his team for various reasons due to power struggles.
Would he have had more than Sadaharu Oh?

Who knows how many Hank Aaron would have gotten if he had been juicing like this douchebag, Bonds.

I have not liked Bonds since he played for Pirates. I know most players have egos but his is 10x stronger than any I have seen in a long time.
Berry is a great player who didn't need the steroids but he used them to extend his career and as a result he put a HUGE black mark on baseball and the home run title. I despise him for that. And you can count in all the other sluggers who were juiced like Big Red and Sammy who is NOTHING now that he is not juiced.
I can't stand looking at him standing their watching his home run and raising his arms up in victory. I really really don't like this guy.
The controversy is definitely going to hurt his legacy, which is a shame, but I can't argue with the guy's ethics that's for sure.

Definetly takes some skill getting there, but he will never have my respect because he "cheated". I have alot more respect for sluggers like Hank.

what's to argue? I find it amusing that the only part of this country that seemed to care were people from the Bay area(aside from the media), hell, look at the cover of todays new york post (syringes spell out 756). Even so, I still feel that McGwire's single season hr record got more media coverage than this baseball's Benoit. I'm suprised he doesn't "unknowingly" inject his kid, he seems kind of small for his age.
On a side note, I was reading today that bonds entered the league at a weight of ~185, and he is now well into the 230's, even worse is that 90% of that weight was gained after age 35, and 90% of that original weight was muscle (which is seemingly deteriorating and turning to fat from the constant use or roids), even better is that the number of hr hit this season is what like 20? last year was around 20 and the year before that was like 4. He is no icon, charting his hr from the time he started taking roids, and you'll see that 2 years ago, his muscle and legiments started deteriorating and he hasn't been the same, he's old and if it wasn't for that one season of human growth hormone nobody would even be speaking his name right now.

HGH is........
1. readily available,
2. fewer, if any, real side effects compared to steriods,
3. not currently tested for because it requires blood test or muscle biopsy, both of which won't be accepted by MLBPA any time soon, if ever.
And that's only HGH. Steriods will continue to be prevalent because you need to know what you're looking for and professional athletes simply use designer ones - custom made for the athlete and 99.9% sure to not show up on the standard battery of tests from MLB.
I find it amusing how many people bash Barry to death but love their NFL, which spent the 80's and 90's roided out to the max. I wonder if Merriman's accomplishments thru his first two seasons should have an asterisk? I haven't heard that being suggested. Hell, if it's not for Jason Taylor speaking up, Merriman might have won the defensive player of the year award after missing four games ofr failing a drug test.
BARRY is the best of our time. He beat out all others who had the same or bigger advantage than him. Long live the new "Homerun King"!

Surprisingly, I agree with you. There are a lot of athletes out there using performance enhanced drugs. It is still no excuse for him, and yes, history will always question Barry, but the thing of it is, he did break the record. End of story.

It was more than one season that he was using roids.
Berry Bonds did not need roids to be a great player. He was a great player long before he started taking roids. The problem is he took them and it extended his career and that extended the time he had to break the record. Look at his numbers. They are impressive. He was averaging 35 home runs a year. That is a lot year after year. Those alone are Hank Aaron type numbers. I don't think Hank hit many over 40. So no, it wasn't just one year. The point is Berry didn't need the roids to be great.
Oh and the year he hit 5, he was injured and out.

Wow... even Udawg is making since in this thread. Normally when you bring up sports around Udawg, he just preaches to you about how walking instead of running will turn your fat into muscle. :D

I've been in sport since before you were born.
BTW last week there was another new study that supported what I said. Walking is just as healthy for you as running.... unless you are running for your life. In that case walking will be harmful to your health.

because in that post your tongue is so far up barry's ass, whatever he eats, you can taste too.
