Too bad, even this driver can't fix some problem of the games that I want to play.

Driver Parallel Lines:
-- Black screen after go into the game, works prefectly when using 158.xx driver, but Lost Planet won't work if I don't use driver after 160.xx.

The History Channel - Civil War:
-- The whole screen was corrupt, it seems 8800GTX can't run this title for some reasons, but I bet it is a driver issue.

@DRen72: Thanks for the info,I guess I will give it a try later, but do you able to run The History Channel - Civil War with your 8800GTX?

@nekrosoft13: Then this is really wired, the last 158.XX driver I use was the 158.22, but Lost Planet will lock up after I killed one monster, no matter which one, just when you kill something, the game will freeze, but same question as DRen72, do you able to run The History Channel - Civil War with your 8800GTX?

nekrosoft13, I'm still on the 158.45 drivers but since I finished GRAW2 (no shadows with 16x.xx), I'm thinking of moving up to the 16x.xx drivers. You think these are the ones to go with?

i tried 163.11, 163.16 and now 162.50

163.11 are great, no issues, good performance.

162.50 are 4 days newer then 163.11, so should contain more bug fixes, so far no issues, also good performance

163.16 are the latest so far, had no game issues, but opening images in defualt picture viewer took between 5-10 seconds, same with opening videos in WMP11 or Media Player Classic.

so right now i would recommend 162.50

There is mostly good feedback over at Guru3d.com also. Some report not being able to get AA to work, but then there is the typical response by others that say its fine.

Isn't that what one of the [beta] hotfixes is supposed to fix?

Well, I tried these and have already switched back to the 163.16's. The 163.16's is the only set that fixes my BF2142 Titan map memory crash. With this set, it came back after the first round I played. I have been able to play over 3o Titan rounds with the .16's without a single hickup or crash.

no

no

Werd. I had the same prob with those drives so went back to 162.22 and now my videos all open immediately like they did, so it's definitely something in that new driver that was causing it. Hope future releases aren't all screwed like that, pretty annoying for it to pause for 10 secs or so before starting any video you watch.

Performance in FEAR seemed slightly worse in these than 163.11, went back.

Until a driver comes out that actually fixes the DV bug with DX10, looks like 163.11 are keepers.

My profiles were gone too. I think nVidia is struggling with that whole System32 - SysWOW64 thingy these days.

I just expanded the nvapps.xm_ to System32, and I think I may have expanded it to SysWOW64 too just for good measure, rebooted, and profiles were there.

So far, this seems to be a very good driver for me.

Same here, I also have a backup nvapps I keep for grey_1 induced emergencies. :D I just followed those steps also and worked for me.

I just have to figure out why nhancer is broke now and these will be good for a while.
