Cant load driver 1.0-4349

Im running RH8.0 on a Dell M50 laptop
chip is Quatro 4 GoGL

config and log files are attached.

Please im in desperat need of help

Does running /sbin/modprobe nvidia before starting X up (you have to do the modprobe as root) help at all? If you get the same error, then check the kernel logs (in /var/log/messages) for a reason why. If you can start X up after doing the modprobe, then look into why it isn't loading automatically.

If you can start X after a modprobe, then can you post the contents of /etc/modules.conf?

I think nvidia is loading ok when I do a manual morprobe but the screen is still dark when i try to start X. The XF86Config is ok when Im running the vesa driver. I have fiddeled around a lot with the settings in XF86Config but it make no differance.
