I like it, but it still seems to be a bit buggy. Is anyone running a stable version of it?

What issues are you having? I've run it without issue in the past, for the most part, I had to disable it prior to loading a game. I don't use it now because truthfully, I found it more obstructive and less productive for my needs.

I've run it stable before, but didn't really do much with it.

I'm using the latest drivers from nVidia, and I'm using the latest Beryl, and I will have to get the file to you when I get home.
I know that I'm not helping you guys much with helping me, and I apologize. I'll be better prepared when I get home.

I'm only posting this to let you know I didn't look in here. :p
Did you give the new Compiz Fusion (http://www.opencompositing.org/) a shot?
six_storm had a thread a little while ago about it.

How much do you have now? What are the specs of your rig?

None. :p
It's an athlon2600+ with a generic nf2 mobo. I've been swapping ram out of my wife's pc when she's not using it, just to play around with it. Next weekend I'll grab a gig at the local CC ($69.00) and then I can get my grey_1's learning network up and running.
Time to do some hardcore learning instead of just playing around.
If it weren't for gaming some debian based OS would be all over my main rig here.

In a little while, I will build another rig. I want to build it out of this 6000 tht I have now and buy a new pc for my main rig.

I wish my second rig had that kind of power. :) Soon maybe, lots of other little fishes to fry first.

Looks nice DD!
Is Compiz in the repository yet or did you have to compile it? I'm actually wiping my main hdd tonight in my main rig, vista is getting retired to gaming only, so I want to get my old sweet linux setup back.

So now DD is starting to figure out that Linux isn't an unusable hobby OS after all... :)

Do me a favor and try Debian prior to Ubuntu. Let me know your thoughts.
Do a netinstall, I only had to download a 180M install CD and then about ~600M of data.
