Well Vista Premium is in the mail and on its way. I'm up for any info or sugestions for a hassle free install. My XP Pro 64bit is going wacky on me so it is time for a change. I can't run the Vista checker because 64bit is not supported. Thanks for any help.

is that your system in the sig?

then you will be fine.

for 8800 use 162.50, currently the best driver. Don't know what software you have, but if i was you, i would look for the latest verions of all software you have.

Install the very latest DirectX runtimes.

Been using Vista since November...dual booting most of it, but recently I said what the hell ever and deleted everything so I could have a Vista only box. Now that the drivers are good and everything works well with it (well, everything I use) there's just no point in keeping the extra files around.

Before launch it was usable, but not very. After launch they put up some compatibility updates that helped greatly. Then we waited for good drivers, and now that NV finally has those...there's no reason to bother with XP anymore.

I know that isn't true for everyone, but hey, if you have the RAM and your software+drivers are good, you'll probably love Vista. Even if it takes a bit of getting used to.

Be careful what "Hotfixes" you let install :banghead:

Installed most of the hotfixes, and probably they gonna release them in SP1 aswell

No thanks, I never have I never will...

Some people had problems with some of XPs hotfixes as well, but you know...I never did there either.

Speaking of which, one of my raptors just bit the dust so ive had to reinstall , Whats the name / date / description of that Driver Signing Hotfix , so I can use Rivatuner again.

I like to get this info too. Sucks not having Rivatuner!
