I'm trying to help a friend with his Acer 5610Z, he just replaced the factory memory with a proper spec Kingston 2GB dual channel kit and the computer crashes to BSOD randomly. Kingston told us to update the bios, but I was unable to find a reflash for this laptop on the acer site (or elsewhere). I am about to run a memtest86 but this sounds like bad RAM. Any input?

Could be it needs the Bios update to read the 2gig stick right.

As for memtest, the laptop has no floppy and I couldn't get it to boot memtest from a cd, dvd or usb key. Windows memory test showed the RAM as being sound.

As for a bios update, I can't seem to find one on the acer site, i'm not sure if there is one for this peticular model.
