Hello all,

anyway i need an older driver, than ' nvidia 4349 driver' with that new installer; cause on this (my) system, (try "RedHat 9", "Dell-Inspiron 8K-Laptop"), only 'Nvidia" - driver 1.0-3123 is able to install - what can i do?

For a little help i would be glad.

But i think the difficultie is how to install the '...src.rpm' 'nvidia-version-3.123' for "RedHat 9"?

May be someone have an ideas?

Ah, I didn't read your initial post carefully enough. You need to use 1.0-4349 with RedHat 9 due to changes in glibc; 1.0-3123 won't work. What problems are you having with 1.0-4349?

... thanks for your answer;

I think my english, what i have learned (in germany) by school, sometimes it's not good enough, if i want to declare 'special' situations (problems)! Nevermind - i try.
My computer is an "Dell-Laptop-Inspiron 8k", working system: "RedHat 9" (since yesterday), before i had installed "RedHat 8" with that "Nvidia-3.123" driver and therefor everything (really) runs in a smooth way. But i couldn't enable 'dma', for what i need to look some film-trailer or so. Now with "RedHat 9" the problem, issue is that movements from the 'graphic card' are not smoothy anymore, for example the 'ksnake' game i can't play no more, cause the snakes are different from before; so everything is fast, but not 'in one way'.
Also for "RedHat 8" before i had tried to change to that "Nvidia-driver-4xxx" with the same result, everything is a little bit 'flickering'. My graphic-card is a "GeForce 2 Go"

Hope i don't make work at all!

Cheers

Thomas
