G98 is for the entry level
There has been a lot of talk about G92 and many sites reported that this chip is a mainstream part. Our well informed sources have confirmed our previous allegation that G92 is a high end. It should be a faster clocked revised version of the G80 core at 65 nanometre and it should launch in mid November. The G98 is also the real codename and that is the 65 nanometre version of the G86 the 80 nanometre entry level chip. 65 nanometre will help Nvidia to make its production cheaper and the chips cooler. There will be one more G9x chips on 65 nanometre and we believe that G96 is the name. Time will tell.

All we know right now is that we can expect something this November, everything else is just speculation...

I believe this one to be true, because Nvidia has already stated that the release date for the high end annnnnnnnd mid range are "about" correct and that you could safely put them on your christmas list.

If the FUD is to be believed we are just getting a revision, no new chip? Could mean we are at the beginning of nVidia's "lazy days".

I had heard they were probably releasing their top of the line only in November, with other parts coming out early in 2008. So I'm guessing just Yorkfield (quad core) XE versions, then early next year is when we'll see the Wolfdale (dual core).

Maybe there'll be a Extreme Edition Dual Core as well but I doubt that.
Normally Wolfdale should be released together with the midrange Yorkfields in Q1 08.

I'm planning to go for the Yorkfield extreme edition when its available and provided the benchmarks look good...and that includes lower temps too. I know that a Yorkfield quad extreme is going to be a very fast processor, but I wonder just how much more than a nice overclocked Q6800.

As far as the next nVidia GPU, it will all depend on the final benchmarks. I get the feeling I may not benefit much from a GPU revision as much as a CPU upgrade.
