Now the cat is out of the bag, OEMs did not like AMD Barcelona.
If AMD cant sell it to majority of OEMs because of poor performance than expected then it look like AMD will be finished soon.

Sad news for the red AMD camp indeed, They've been getting slapped in their faces pretty hard lately.
I do hope they won't cry to the EU as mentioned in the post above. This is their own fault not Intel's

Don't shoot the messenger ......
Robocop thrives off of the rumors.

Well... read up on his post history- for the most part it is either posts regarding "bad news" for either AMD or ATi. I am thuroughly convinced that he is actually on a mission to find nothing but bad info on AMD.

Then why does he use AMD?
Oh, a mystery! Quick to the Mystery-Machine! Jinkies!

He used to be an AMD fanboy hence his username.

I think he should change his user name or make a new one. It's a little misleading.

Even if this is true it should be temporary. The new B2 stepping is probably what the OEM are waiting for. It should be arriving early next year.

AMD, Pitzer said, is receiving limited initial support for its new processors from large original equipment manufacturers, "due in part to lower than expected performance metrics and the delayed ramp of high-end chips."
This tells me that AMD wants to limit the intial steppings to concentrate on the newer stepping. This is actually a good this in my opinion.
But one things still remains true...this is a very bad year for AMD. I hope they recover soon.
Hopefully the problem is just with clock speeds, and that AMD can remedy this to at least some extent before the end of the year.
I thought it was blindingly obvious athlonxp hates ATI with a passion. He was an AMD fanboy UNTIL they bought ATI. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

That's exactly what AMD does, delay products or make promises for better products. They have to deliver!

You would make a great pr person.
"We know that the r600 sucks ass, but thats good my fellow stockholders... because we're concentrating on the r650"

If what they are saying is not true then AMD would be in a lot of trouble next year. But if in fact they have a better product, than it will make sense to say what they are saying. Just common sense.
If AMD goes out of business, then we will all pay be paying higher prices in the future. For the sake of competition I hope they are telling us the truth.

Perhaps some privately owned fund or company can buy them up after this debockle and fix them up and make them profitable again as well as a company that can compete. Because i really like having competition, it drove intel to make the conroe CPUs.

If anybody buys AMD it should either be IBM or Samsung. :p
