I haven't been keeping up on my tech info like I used to. I'm confused on the relationship between the FSB speeds and the ram speed.

For instance it would seem to me (and I know I am probably wrong) that if you wanted to run the new procs with the 1333 fsb you would need ddr3 1333 to match the bus speed.

Someone please help me get up to speed on how this Intel system works. I feel like a complete newb agan :D

Actually, I think support for DDR3 1333 is just being added to new motherboards, most still go up to 1066 (800 and 1066). It's all about CPU/mem dividers, CPU at 1333 and memory at 1333 means 1:1 ratio. Being able to run your memory at a lower ratio is a good thing since your CPU can achieve a higher fsb when overclocking but the memory might not keep up.

Thanks Xdanger you are right, it does begin to hurt after a bit.
