I have installed the 4349 nvidia drivers on my RedHat 8.0 machine. Previosuly, using the default 'nv' drivers, I was able to run at 1600x1200 @ 85HZ on my Sony G-400 (19"). With the 'nvidia' drivers, my display runs only at 75HZ.
The only change I made to my XF86Config file was to replace the 'nv' with 'nvidia', and to remove the 'Load "dri"' line.
My video card is a Riva TNT-2. Is it the case the accelerated nvidia drivers are incapable of driving my card at the higher refresh rate? Obviosuly the card is physically capable of doing it, as everything worked fine with hte original drivers.
My horizontal and vertical sync lines are correct, and the modelines worked well previously.
Does anybody have any ideas?
