7/10
Good graphics, repetitive gameplay, 6-7 hours to complete (no wonder demo is so short).

Looks like gameplay and lasting appeal is where it fails... new the lasting appeal would be low since it has no MP or anything like that but gameplay is suprising. The demo and videos give off a good feel, wonder what this reviewer thought of God of War since they are very similar.

Dang...this is actually a game I know a lot of you PS3 owners were really looking foward to.:(
that is the uk review. the us review might be different.
I was reading the Gametrailers forums about this. Most people were saying "We don't care about UK reviews".

Bloody arrogant fools.

Still am, I knew the gameplay would be repetitive. And most other games are sadly not very long these days.
Wow, reading that review, it looks like the game hits on every single one of my pet peeves. Ah well, its not like I own a PS3 in the first, and now I have one less reason to get one.

The game kind of turned me off when I found out there was auto jumping/blocking. A game like this I think the player should be allowed total freedom of movement at any given time.

The only point he mentioned that I would be concerned about is the fact that the game is so short. I loved both God of Wars even though alot of the combat was really repetitive. Just because something is repetitive doesn't mean it isn't fun...look at puzzle games like Tetris, VERY repetitive, but fun regardless.
6 hours though? I could tackle that in one sitting. That could potentially make this game a rental instead of a purchase.

I hope all the people that were looking forward to this game won't let ONE review make them not buy the game.

Reviews usually don't stop me from buying a game, even if they're "bad", and 7/10 certainly isn't bad at all. The only thing that may stop me from purchasing it is the 6 hour length.
For example, I bought Harvest Moon for the PSP even though most review sites gave it 5 or 6 out of 10, and I love/play the **** out of it.
Reviewers are typically snotty dip****s, and their opinion doesn't mean jack. They rated Harvest Moon down so low because it was basically a port of the ancient PS1 version....so what? Does that change the fact that it is a good game?

I see where you're coming from with you complaints on the game's length. Despite the reviews so far, I'm looking forward to Lair more than Heavenly Sword. I can always get my action/adventure fix with games like DMC and GoW. However getting to fly around + blow **** up with a dragon = Day 1 purchase for me.:)

Oh yeah, I'm with you. I still have Lair on pre-order. I don't care if it gets 3/10 from reviews, I'm still going to get it on day 1 :D
I have a sort of "equation" I go by to determine if a game is worth purchasing. I figure that I'm willing to pay at most 5 dollars per hour of gameplay. So if Heavenly Sword is only about 10 hours long at most, and it costs 60 dollars....then I'd be paying more than 5 dollars per hour of play. For a 60 dollar game I need to have at least 12 hours of guaranteed playtime, and if the game is only 6 hours long, that would require me to play through it twice.
That's why I've demoted it to rental, until I get some more info. But I'm certainly still looking forward to the game.
6 hour play time = rental unless you want a showcase title for the PS3.

Eh, I wouldn't use this as my showcase title. Every time I show people the demo they ask, "Why does her hair look like that?".
This is kind of a bad start to Sony's fall lineup but hopefully Warhawk gets the attention it deserves next week.

QFT. I really feel Warhawk has been underappreciated. The beta was AMAZING, I honestly can't wait for this game.
