Um, so let me get this right...@ 2.5Ghz they got 23K (no mention of 2900XT clocks at that point. Then they overclocked to 3Ghz and got 30K (yet this time they mention they did overclock the 2900XT's massively).

Call me crazy, but I think that the O/C'ed 2900XT's had a lot more to do with that then another 500Mhz on the CPU.

Actually after reading TheInq again this is complete BS. An official 27K was achieved with Core 2 @ 5+Ghz & 2x2900XT's @1+Ghz core & 900+Mhz memory. (http://www.techpowerup.com/index.php?38288) No way just a little CPU overclock could get them those kinds of numbers.

I don't think he's saying his laptop had a Barcelona core, I think he meant the lap top had picks of scores that he got off a machine that was running a Barcelona processor.

Edit: I will laugh my rear-end off at all the AMD bashers/Intel fan boys if this new processor turns out to really be that fast.

Sure it sucks that I just went to a new platform a few weeks ago, but hey, thats how it goes... my system isn't going to be any slower in 6 months, there will just be better stuff available.

Either way, it's still complete BS because in the INQ article they stated clocks of only 800 on the card, so it was clocked 50% faster to get the 27K score. I guess they should have at least checked the ORB BEFORE writing up their article. :p
