I have had my card on the memory at 1.9GHz & also 2.0GHz, it fails the ati artifact test but is rock stable in 3dmark06 and all games ive tested! .. is it safe to leave the card running at 1.9GHz or 2.0GHz 24\7 even though its not stable with ati tool? it idles at 50c and max ati tool load is 65c! i have a Thermalright HR-03-PLUS with a 120mm fan on!

Is it safe to leave the card clocked at 1.9GHz or 2.0GHz even though its not ati tool stable BUT it is stable in all other apps i.e 3dmark06 & all games ive tried!

What do you think?

I'd say it's probably not worth it.

But that's just me, because I never over clock my hardware. Really
when you have high end stuff there's no point. All you'll see is a few FPS
increase anyway, and that's fairly useless when you're getting very good
FPS anyway.

Stay safe ! :D

that ati tool thing is very hard on the chips but its best to err on the side of safety ,
how much gain do you get with 2ghz anyway?
What are the 06 scores?

Well i though i would test this out! ... i ran 3DMark06 both at 1.8GHz & 2.0GHz on the memory.

See sig for CPU clock speeds.

Ok the benchies are as follows.

clock speeds at 626MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock & 2.0GHz on the memory i get a 3DMark06 score of : 11256

&

clock speeds at 626MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock & 1.8GHz on the memory i get a 3DMark06 score of : 11046

Not worth it IMO...

If you play a new game thats more GPU heavy than 3dmark06, you'll probably get artifacts.

Yip im thinking the same, i think i will just leave my current stable overclocks of 626MHz clock core, 1458MHz shader clock & 1.8GHz on the memory!
