ok first my system is a opteron 180 2gig 4 stick of 512 memory and a 8800gts and windows vista. i just upgrade from a x1950gt did a clean install did some benchmark i got around 9000 in 35mark05 and 7000 in 3dmark06. but my games dont play all that much better then my x1950gt. my friend said i will get better fps if i get better memory im using slow value memory in dual channel vista scores the memory 4.0. soo my question if i get better faster memory will it help any?

No, but a new CPU will do wonders here.

What games are you trying to play? Overall you should notice a decent jump even with the cpu/ram combo you have. As long as you have 2 gigs of ram it should work decent regardless of the speed.

yes, but you have to spends hundreds of dollars for just a few percent improvements for games.
