Hi everyone,i try buying bioshock from D2Drive and i think its not possible to buy from my location.The game isn't arrive yet our shops and i cant wait :( .
any sugestions about this?
maybe steam i used once a long time ago..

And where are you located? I had to buy Bioshock from Direct2drive UK, because neither Steam nor D2D USA let me purchase it.

It cost you more if purchase fron D2D UK:

D2D UK 29.95 GBP = 44.19 EUR
D2D USA 49.95 USD = 36.53 EUR

I got copy of Bioshock from ebay for £22.50 with free delivery. :)

It still downloads like it always does, but you can do a backup to save downloading next time you need to install. I like steam as it puts all my games together in a easy to reach spot. Although with the games explorer in Vista its not so much of a big deal now. :D

I give up the online stuff and i purchase from ebay,i must be patient for good lookin box Bioshock.

I figured I'd dig this up since the title applies to my current situation.

On my Vista64 machine, I can't get the direct2drive downloader to work. It says "Could not initialize file" ... the download won't even start. I've tried this by accessing/launching the downloader from Firefox 3.5, IE8 64 bit, and IE8.

Does anyone else have problems with this download agent that Direct2drive uses? I couldn't pass up the $5 price for Bioshock. Help!

Ok, so I uninstalled download manager, reinstalled, albeit an older version, let the app auto-upgrade, used Firefox to launch it, and now it's working fine.

Anyone else getting this game for a measly five bucks?

I got the Steam version for $5 a few months ago... and I have the box version. I'm weird like that.

Excellent game, my favorite of that year I believe.

yep. i really enjoyed the voice acting.
