Hi, using seagate sata2 drives and in vista there using UDMA mode 5 aka Utra ATA/100 ??? why??? :(

Yes, is it normal for vista to read a SATA2 drive as ATA/100 ?

Mainboard is Gigabyte 965p DS4 and im using F10 bios.

No not really. Mine even without new drivers automatically detected the drives as SATA.

Ok, I think I know the problem, just read that I need to select AHCI for full SATA2 and NCQ support.

Does vista need a driver on install for this and would it be possible to just change it over to AHCI without data lose and for vista to automatically install the driver? Long shot, but worth asking.. lol
