Ok long story short, i had the 1 month trial or whatever it was of office 2007. I now have an online college course that requires office 2007, the books came with a 6 month trial of it. I uninstalled the expired one month trial and installed the 6 month trial. However it says that my trial as expired and it asks me to convert, i've tried reinstalling several times. What gives?:thumbdwn:

the registry key from the first office is still in there.
the registry key from the first office is still in there.
Bingo.
Unless you want to play around with the registry, which with MS stuff I would avoid, your best bet is to wipe and reload or load a VM with the trial on it.
OR... try Open Office 2.0. It's not that bad really. What is the 07 requirement for? Do you know why?
OR... you should be able to get a copy of 07 for about $100 or less from your bookstore. That's a great price and Office 07 is one hell of a suite.

If you cannot buy it immediately and cannot find the right registry key, why not simply set your computer date back for 1 week or so? This should "fool" trial to work for few more days, and give you some more time for your purchase decision.
Sorry about the delay.
A VM is a Virtual Machine. You could run VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (free), then run an image of XP (you'd need a license or run for 30 days unactivated). Within this, you could load that trial of Office 07.
Not very elegant, and a bit of work, but you'd be able to try it for free.

well the trial has been expired for a few months, i never really needed it until this class. That does sound like a bit of work with the VM, how would i go about deleting the reg keys, run regedit but how do i know what to delete? I guess if worse comes to worse ill go the vm way.
*edit* actually im gonna have this class until december so im gonna need it to work for a while
