I just picked up a Gainward GF4 ti4400 Golden Sample (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9685) that I really love...but I'd trade it for a 9500 Pro! :)

It didn't go thru. The card is a 9500 non-Pro that overclocks well....I want a Pro.

Um...If its a 9500 128 meg non pro..it can be changed into a pro very easily.
I just got mine a couple days ago and I saved $70 and my card actually runs faster than a stock 9500pro
actually thats not true.
it can be turned into a 9700.
the diff between 9500 and 9500pro is that
9500 = 4pixel pipes 128bit memory
9500pro = 8pixel pipes 128bit memory
9700 = 8pixel pipes 256bit memory
the original 9500's actually ARE 9700's w/ a different PCI ID on the card so the ati drivers disable half the pipes and consequently half of the memory bus.
its an all or nothing mod. unfortunately the card i had had one of those extra pipes broken since when i enabled them i got mad checkerboard effects everywhere. c'est la vie :)
anyway its sold now :)

Yes i know this..but chances are slim to none that you are gonna find the L shaped memory on the 9500 non pro anymore. They stopped makin the 9500np on the 9700 board back in January. There are still a couple floating around somewhere but ive tried everywhere and found one place, then ordered it and it was the straight in line mem but all in all its ok.
This ATI run for me is just a pitstop then back to nvidia and the nv35
yah i got mine right when wizzard hacked the drivers.. my friend got one also, his modded perfect.
I ended up trading for a 128mb jaton ti4200 + some cash.. I'm using it as a stopgap until nv35 as well. the "current" line of nv cards (that you cant even buy lol) are in no way compelling at all.
After experiencing how awful ATI's linux drivers are and their lack of initiative or caring for their linux users i'll never buy an ati card again. One time i emailed nvidia with a linux question (right about the time they released the drivers for gf2) and i got a reply in 2 days. makes you think....
