..and I thought today was gonna suck... W00000T!!
Release notes show this should address the slowdowns (texture evict issue)...
"Improved performance of the graphics memory manager on GeForce
8 series GPUs running DirectX 9 applications in single‐GPU and
NVIDIA SLI configurations. These improvements solve cases of reported performance slowdowns in
some 3D applications with high graphics settings and resolutions."

Crysis support eh? :naughty:
OK, I see, feedback here...
I have already been waiting for a particular fix for over a year now. In hope this information will somehow reach nVIDIA R&D I would like to describe the problem in detail here.
Problem concerns DXVA in combination with VMR. Some multimedia apps render OSD's on a second input pin of the VMR. This is the way Microsoft specifies for displaying OSD's which is causing trouble here. It does not handle both inputs correctly together with aspect ratio information when using the IVMRMixerControl9 Interface. Video image is only a quarter of the actual window size, the rest of the image is just garbage (see second screenshot below).
Here is what the graph looks like: http://members.inode.at/762450/vmr-bug/graph.jpg
Here is what the bug makes out of the video image: http://members.inode.at/762450/vmr-bug/vmr_bug.jpg
There are two ways that make the problem disappear but as you will see, these are not at all solutions, just hints:
Set color depth to 8-Bit
Disable deinterlacing within VMR
This bug is independent from the OS. Tested under XP 32, Vista 32 and Vista 64.
Could a mod please remove my post in the announcement thread? Thanks...

Well maybe if u force it, cause the engine doesn't support it yet, AA in DX10

Vampire Bloodlines textures are still extremely low res with these drivers. Not so with the 158 drivers.

crysis demo is near ;), there is no reason why they would state crysis support if demo wouldn't few days away

Still getting "Unsupported video card" with Silent Storm when starting it up.
Performance for me is about on level with the 163.11 drivers.
gained 1 FPS in FEAR.

Still get the message "At least 8MB of available video memory is required to run Red Faction!" when attempting to start Red Faction. It'll never be fixed. Ahhh well, when Ati/AMD start making high end video cards again maybe I'll be able to play the game again. Same with Silent Storm, Vampire Bloodlines, and Heavy Gear 2.
over clocking with riva tuner doesn't work for me with these drivers. Everytime I hit OK it just returns to factory clocks.
