Hey Folks

Long Time lurker, first time poster. Well with the Crysis beta coming out I thought it was 'register worthy' Im having a blast with the beta at the mo, I even found the turtle! wonder if the crysis wildlife warden (Jonelo) found it yet :D

So, with my actual config (in my signature) can I have 30 i/s everytime in CRysis with graphics level "High" without v-sinc on 1024/768 or that's just a dream?
I ask the question we never know ^^
My Q6600 should in party compensate my graphics card isn' t it?
Final question to the beta players, had you activated v-sinc when you played? Because v-sinc have a terrible influence on i/s.

Welcome to Nvnews.

The official requirements for Crysis were not released yet and the minimum requirements usually describe computers that can run the game at low-medium setting at 800x600 at approx. 25-30fps. The beta is not a good indicator for performance of the retail product either but based on your specs I think you should be fine for 1024 with some settings on high but you´ll might have to set most settings to medium.

Your CPU should help you when it comes to minimum framerate and areas with heavy physics.

You are are always going to be bottle-necked by the weakest link which in your case is the 7800. You can have the fastest overclocked cpu on the planet but it aint going to make any difference. For most games the graphics card is the most important component so either get a new card or be prepared to play at lower resolution/detail settings - good luck.

This game is more CPU limited than GPU limited, as 1280x720 performance is nearly the same at 1920x1200 for me, at least, "hypothetically." ;)

I'd say the final game will be much improved in performance.

OK thanks for your answers. I said to myself that it wouldn't be also simple. I have just to hope that Crysis is as optimized as Bioshock... (Dream...very big dream).
About the game, how much we can play in the multi-demo? Is the environment destructible? (House, trees etc.)
At least now I understand, I am going to have to buy one 8800 utra...Maybe two LOL ><

Jonelo, thanks for that performance feedback with different AA settings.

Looks like a single 8800GTX is enough to play that game at 1920x1080 maxed out with low AA! Hopefully this won't change with DX10!

Maybe 1600 x 1200 or 1920 x 1200 will be posible but only with AA x2 .

depends on how it work, if it cloaks you with the environment there would still be a shadow where your body blocks the light - more realistic if you ask me. If you really go invisible then there wouldn't be - kinda lame.

Not necessarly. I assume the cloak function of the suit works like LCD screen with many little pixels which display the surroundings depending on the angle of the viewer. Similar tech already exists now (very early in the development) but it doesn´t dematerialize you, it´s just a new kind of camonflage, a way to blend you with the surroundings. Therefore it´s correct that a shadow still appears because you are still physically there and the lightrays still catch you.... so to say. :)
