Dear God those screenshots look horrible.. just look at the one where you're in the boat at the boat's control panel. That DOES look like something from FarCry.

Sorry just added the speeds: 640/2000.
Jonelo are these screenies with the tweaked configuration files that enable some of the very high options?
Is high . Very high not work
It is possible to activate a type of effect of volumetric light - in the 1,0 version- changing the ini files - all to very high - of the directory of the game, but it eliminates the effect of foam in the water and clouds
.
I do not know the way of activating only this effect and that the clouds and the foam do not disappear
The screens of DeusGear not has this efect

This is the 1.0 version, with creap textures in the first rock
more volumetric

Yeah, "Sun Shafts" is different from "Volumetric Light"
There is simple sun shafts in Farcry.
"Sun Shafts" applied only light source direction!
But, "Volumetric Light" applied any other places. :)

I'm looking around for a way to turn on volumetic light, no luck so far.
I would swear that in Far Cry I have not seen this effect, slightly similar I have seen it in other games in interiors, as the Splinter Cell. Not is a default efect in high or in medium -

I've got some new screens for you from Beta 2. Little bit of information first. I'm running on the following:
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.52ghz
8800GTS 640mb Overclocked
2gb Ram
Win XP
3dmark06: Just over 10,000
My impressions so far aren't too great. The graphics aren't what I was expecting at all, hopefully just because this is beta and it's multiplayer, but it's certainly not the revolution in graphics we all thought it would be on the evidence I've seen so far. It's not even the best looking game I have installed, DiRT still wins that. Single player may well be different graphically.
Performance is shockingly bad as you can see from the FPS in the screenshots below, again I hope this is just down to it being beta and that there will be some miracle drivers.
I'm not too keen on the multiplayer, I prefer fast paced games like Enemy Territory/Unreal tournament, so gameplay doesn't really impress me but I was always looking forward to single player more. Certainly doesn't help trying to shoot people with 20-30fps.

With all high and 8x aa around 20-30, its MUCH smoother without any aa though.

The game is unoptimized and only uses 2 cores in the beta but will use all 4 later on (straight from the devs).

Damn I hope this runs ok (not expecting 50 or even 45fps of course) at 1920x1200 2xAA for me, if not I hope I can at LEAST run it at that res with no AA smoothly.
How does this game fare at <30fps? Games like CS really suck at fps that low, whereas others are ok.

I'm sorry but with your rig the only way you're running at 1920 resolution is with all settings on low.
